Pass the Parcel Winner Revealed
24 May 2019
Thornbridge Brewery in Bakewell has won a giant game of Pass the Parcel – organised by Derby Express Couriers to raise awareness of the work of specialist local charity Safe and Sound.
Derby Express Couriers in West Meadows Industrial Estate invited 50 business customers to join in the activity to launch a series of fundraising activities for Safe and Sound.
Each customer unwrapped a parcel layer to reveal prizes, a lucky number and information about Safe and Sound which specialises in grassroots work across the county to support and transform the lives of children and young people who are victims or at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE).
A lucky number was then randomly generated and the winners, Thornbridge Brewery, were presented with a Derby Monopoly board donated by Century Mobile in Sinfin and other prizes from Derby Express Couriers.
Tom Sharp is a director with Derby Express Couriers – a family run business which is one of Derby’s largest transport companies.
He said: “Derby Pass the Parcel was a brilliant campaign that combined our expertise in courier services, the relationship we have with the wider Derby business family and our commitment to supporting our local communities.
“Businesses throughout the week really engaged with the game and were as impressed as we are with the life-changing work that Safe and Sound do to transform the lives of young people across the county.
“We have received great feedback already that this has raised our customers’ awareness of child sexual exploitation and the thankless work the charity does in this field.
“We all know CSE is something that can affect children and young people in all walks of life and we hope that this campaign paves the way for our further fundraising activities planned for the coming year.”
Safe and Sound CEO Tracy Harrison added: “A key objective for the charity is to raise awareness of charity sexual exploitation amongst local communities as well as to provide individual support for young people who are victims or at risk of these highly manipulative crimes.
“Derby Pass the Parcel was devised especially with Derby Express Couriers to share a serious message in a fun way and we are very grateful to everyone for their support throughout the week.”
