As the pandemic develops and further advice around social distancing and self-isolation is released to us, it is affecting every one of us. Those at risk of exploitation are now at greater risk as isolation is encouraged and schools are set to close, so it is important that they continue to receive the vital support they need.

Safe and Sound have as an organisation reviewed our work and the way we deliver it to make sure that we are able to respond effectively, despite the restrictions on interaction. We are continuing to take referrals and protect as much as possible our vulnerable children and young people. We are managing to keep contact and support our children and young people including through ‘virtual’ one to one support.

From Monday 23rd March we will run live chat sessions through our Facebook Page with one of our support workers. They will be able to respond quickly in private chats to any messages received between 10-11am and 3-4pm. Messages received outside these times will receive a reply the next time they login, but please note this may not be until the next scheduled session. If you’d rather talk in person, you can call a support worker on 07726 694680 during those hours. Click the logo below to visit our Facebook Page.

To send a message, just use the button on the right hand side –

In addition, we are also welcoming messages through our Instagram page, but these will be replied to on a daily basis. Click the logo below to visit our Instagram.

We welcome chats and questions from anyone – young people, parents, carers or professionals seeking advice – and will endeavour to help however and wherever we can. The chats are completely private and only exist between Safe and Sound and you. If there are commonly asked questions, we may anonymise the questions and answers and post elsewhere on our website.

If you have any urgent concerns about the wellbeing or safeguarding of a child or young person, it’s safest to call 101 to get advice quickly. You’ll also always be able to reach a member of the team on our office number 01332 362120 between 9am – 5pm. Following restrictions implemented on Monday 23rd March, our office is now closed, but you can still reach a member of the team by calling the office number which will divert to us between 9am – 5pm.
