Fundraising Gala Dinner & Auction

Thank you to all those who came to our fundraising gala dinner and auction on Saturday night at Shottle Hall - we hope you had a great evening.

Safe and Sound Gala Dinner & Auction – Sat 22 October 2016

We are delighted to announce that with your support, we raised a fantastic £12,051.69 plus Gift Aid!

We’d like to say a special thank you to the Ecclesbourne School  Food Technology students who helped with food preparation, service and front-of-house support on the night. The students were given the  opportunity to work alongside Shottle Hall’s fantastic chefs to help prepare the dinner and serve it to our guests. The five young people were incredibly helpful and the service manager at Shottle Hall commented on how  enthusiastic and hard-working they were.

After a tasty three course school dinner themed menu and chance  to bid on some fantastic silent auction prizes, such as a night at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, a tour of the Houses of Parliament and an opportunity to watch the live filming of the Graham Norton Show, we were proud to launch our new Safe and Sound Fundraising Film to raise awareness of Safe and Sound and to let guests know more about where the money raised would be going.

Safe-and-Sound-Auction-Dinner-2016-140Our host and trustee Adam Buss from QUAD then launched  into a Heads and Tails competition to win an Apple Watch kindly donated by Century Mobile, before we began the  Live Auction hosted by Andrew Parker from SDL Graham Penny and Guest Auctioneer Dean Jackson from Derby Telegraph Company of the Year HUUB. Thank you to you all for hosting the event and encouraging guests to dig deep!

Some of the highest bids  were for the Hospitality Suite at the Motorpoint Arena kindly donated by Matt Eden at Eden Tyre Sales, a limited edition t-shirt worn and signed by IBF World Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua,  a tour of the EPM Technology facility with a carbon fibre magazine rack worth £4,995, a framed HUUB wetsuit signed by Gold, Silver and Bronze Rio 2016 Men’s Triathlon medalists, Alistair and Jonny Brownlee and Henri Schoeman, and a day as former England and Leeds United player Danny Mills’ guests at the filming of Football Focus, introduced via video clip by Danny Mills himself!Safe-and-Sound-Auction-Dinner-2016-131

Thank you to Dean and the guys at HUUB for the exciting pre-event bidding on Facebook for another of these limited edition signed wetsuits which sold online for £1500!

We loved seeing all of our guests’ pictures taken by Derby Party Pics who were running the vintage photo booth and glad  everyone seemed to have fun on the dance floor.

Shottle Hall proved to be a fantastic and unique venue, with a beautiful countryside setting close to Belper, offering some of the best views in Derbyshire.

Thank you  to our invaluable supporters:  Derby Business School, Flint Bishop Solicitors, Smith Cooper Accountants, Purely Digital, SDL  Graham Penny  and HUUB.

Safe-and-Sound-Auction-Dinner-2016-95We really appreciate all the support from our sponsors and those who donated prizes.

The money raised will enable us to continue supporting children, young people and their families that are affected by exploitation, sexual violence and abuse.
