Festive fundraisers from across the county are joining The Derby Santa Run at Markeaton Park on Sunday December 8 to raise money for Safe and Sound.
The family-friendly event is a festive 5k fun run with everyone dressed as Santa. It is organised by Derby & Burton Hospitals Charity in collaboration with eight local charities, including Safe and Sound.
Among the fundraisers is Emily Armstrong who is returning to running for the 5k. She said: “Safe and Sound is a brilliant charity who work to protect and support young people so, when I signed up for the Santa Run, I decided to raise money for this charity.”
The event is open to adults, children, and even four-legged friends, encouraging everyone to participate in this festive event.
Participants will receive a free Santa suit and are welcome to run, walk, skip, or dance their way around the course. Along the route, there will be festive surprises, a brass band, hot food, and live DJ music to keep spirits high. Runners will also have the chance to meet the hospital charity’s mascot, Lambie!
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £5 for children under 16. Well-behaved dogs can join for free, with dog bandanas available for £3.
