Though we are an independent charity, we work closely with local children’s services in Derby and Derbyshire as well as with Derbyshire Constabulary’s Child Exploitation Investigations Unit (CEIU) to ensure that children and young people receive the best possible support from all professionals involved.
Do you work with children and young people?
If you work with children in Derby or Derbyshire and are concerned that a child is at risk of sexual exploitation or is being abused and would like to find out if you’re able to make a referral to Safe & Sound, please see the form below for our referral process.
Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to accept referrals from anyone outside the Derbyshire area. This includes children who have been moved to Derbyshire unless their case has been transferred to Derby City Council’s or Derbyshire County Council’s children’s social care teams.
Are you a parent/carer?

Young People from Central & Eastern European Communities in Derby
Our New & Emerging Communities Worker is encouraging referrals for children and young people from these communities who have been identified as being vulnerable to child sexual exploitation. She speaks Slovakian and Czech and can provide interpreting and translation support, including in meetings where English isn’t spoken or is the second language of the child and/or the family. Referrals are welcome from anyone in Derby.
She is available to deliver targeted awareness raising sessions around child sexual exploitation within these communities and can provide first language materials to children and their families to raise awareness and explain the support that Safe and Sound is able to offer.
Call 01332 36120 or email [email protected] for more information.
