Support from Derbyshire Constabulary’s New Chief Constable

We’re excited to be receiving support for another year by Derbyshire Constabulary, with new Chief Constable Peter Goodman selecting us as his charity of the year.

A series of events and activities will be planned for the year ahead which will play a vital role in raising both money for Safe & Sound and public awareness of child sexual exploitation and what is being done across Derbyshire to protect children and young people and support victims of abuse.

Safe and Sound already has a strong working relationship with Derbyshire Police; we work together with them and others to tackle child sexual exploitation across the county, ensuring that victims receive the support they need to move to a place of safety and that the perpetrators of this crime are brought to justice.

Our Chief Executive Nathalie Walters said: “The Chief Constable’s support is very much appreciated, and really will help us to continue to make a difference to the lives of children and young people affected by child sexual exploitation. We’re excited about this partnership, and will support the Chief’s fundraising activities in any way we can.”

Recent events so far have included book sales, a joint open day fundraiser between Derbyshire Constabulary and Derbyshire Fire and Rescue and a burlesque workshop for some of the women in the police force.
