We're pleased to announce that we raised £8,193 at our inaugural fundraising dinner and auction at Derby's iPro stadium last month.
The play Chelsea’s Choice by AlterEgo Creative Solutions, showing the various methods used to groom young people for sexual exploitation was also performed on the evening, and is now being rolled out in schools across Derbyshire.
Our chief executive Nathalie Walters said: “We are thrilled with the total amount raised which will really help us in our fight against child sexual exploitation. We would like to thank everyone who supported us through sponsorship, donating prizes, by attending the event and bidding in the auction. We are overwhelmed by the amazing support shown for Safe and Sound Derby and the money raised will help us to make a real difference.”
We would particularly like to thank Ran Oren, partner and head of corporate at Flint Bishop Solicitors for helping to organise the event and to Flint Bishop generally for choosing Safe and Sound Derby as its charity of the year.
